Six Capabilities Under One Roof

Johnson Controls Facility Explorer

Facility Explorer is the building automation platform at the core of every system we install. It runs the daily work of your building — HVAC sequencing, scheduling, alarming, trending, and energy management — through a family of supervisory and field controllers built for environments where downtime isn't an option. And because it's a Johnson Controls product with a global install base, parts, documentation, and certified support are never more than a call away.

Tridium Niagara

Niagara is the open framework Facility Explorer runs on. It takes equipment speaking different languages — BACnet, LON, N2, Modbus, from any manufacturer, any era — and normalizes all of it into a single supervisory layer with one login and one interface. Legacy controllers and third-party sub-systems integrate instead of getting ripped out, which is exactly what you want in a retrofit.

The Equipment We Run

  • Supervisory: Facility Explorer FX80 supervisory controllers — Niagara 4 framework, BACnet/IP, browser-based HTML5 interface
  • Field control: FX-PC series programmable controllers — BACnet MS/TP, application-specific and fully programmable variants
  • Protocols: BACnet, LON, N2, Modbus — native, not bolted on
  • Access: web-served interface from any device on the network — no proprietary client software
  • Full facility control in one system
  • Reduces redundancy
  • Increased risk mitigation
  • Standardizable across multiple facilities

An open system means your building answers to you, not your service provider and not the OEM. Every system we install is built this way — so the equipment, the data, and the service relationship stay under your control for the life of the system. No proprietary lock-in. No single-vendor dependency.

Open System

Facility Explorer is built on open protocols — BACnet, LON, N2, Modbus — with Tridium Niagara compatibility. Equipment from any manufacturer can be integrated into a single supervisory layer. Building owners are not locked into a proprietary stack or a single integrator for the life of the asset.

Legacy controllers and third-party sub-systems can be brought into the same pane of glass, which is critical for retrofit work. As new load types come online, they extend the BMS instead of sitting parallel to it.
